Day 13 (Friday 26th December 2014)

So I woke up on the floor with Alex this morning. Our backs are now sore but Christmas was a lot of fun. Today though we were back to our search. We were desperate to find someone else to share our time with. We didn't like to admit it but we were becoming a little lonely.

The first town we came to was much like any other although it was a little smaller. It also, like all the others, was dead silent. The second town was a small tourist town that was busy at the moment due to the Christmas season but was still dead silent. Everywhere we went were greeted by silence. Each time we called out all that we heard were the echoes of our own voices. Nothing made any sound except us. It was a very eery experience.

The third and fourth towns were much the same. No sound and nothing to do. We stopped at the fifth town to restock on supplies and to have something to eat but still we found no one. By the sixth town we decided to call it a day.

We stopped at a motel and dropped off our things before heading around the town and calling out. The main street was where all the shops were but it was deserted. Apparently no one in this town woke up early. In fact, the whole town was devoid of people except for two men and a dog who had been frozen halfway through a walk. Still though, there was silence.

We had a lazy dinner that night as we were still sort of full from our Christmas festivities and our lunch from today. Still though we managed to lie down on the couch together and watch some Family Guy before bed.

Looking back on this entry I can see that I haven't written much. That is because although we visited six towns today nothing much happened. I do write about almost everything we do but some days we don't find towns with interesting things to do. That's just life I guess, you can't have every day be exciting.

Until next time, this is EF signing out :)

Day 12 (Thursday 25th of December 2014)

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Sorry for the bleak post yesterday but it was a dark day and I'm not going to sugar coat anything I write in this 'journal'. Alex accepts it and I hope you can too. As today was Christmas we decided we would take things a little easier today and enjoy ourselves a little more. It was sort of melancholy that we couldn't share it with our families but the plus side was that when time did start again we would only be 12 days from Christmas! Haha, we could have two Christmases!

We left the motel we stayed in after a rather enjoyable morning with Alex and myself around 10am. We'd gone to bed early the night before and so had waken up early this morning (it was Christmas after all). I had still felt a little sad but Alex soon fixed that.

We were excited when we found the first town to be a rather big one with a lot to see and do. While the movies were out of the question we did play another round of mini-golf followed by a few rounds of laser tag. We then stopped by a buffet restaurant that was open 24 hours due to the holiday season and filled up on a great Christmas lunch. After that we both split off to find the other person gifts. It was really sweet.

After about two hours we met back up at the buffet place to exchange gifts. I won't share what we got each other for two reasons. First because I want to keep that special moment between us and secondly because some of the gifts we got each other were of the adult variety.

After that we did a search of the town as usual (which took a little longer this time due to its size) and then headed off on the road again. On our way there we came across a holiday inn which we decided we would stop at and spend the night. It was only 3pm but it was Christmas. We spent the first few hours watching some DVDs but after dinner we utilised some of the presents we had given each other.

It was a lot of fun. Christmas was great and I'm going to keep this post short because Alex and I are about to continue in our fun with the presents, we just had to take a quick break.

Until next time, this is EF signing out :D

Day 11 (Wednesday 24th December 2014)

This morning we woke up as usual (again) and followed the same old routine. Get up, have breakfast, have a shower, get dressed, pack our things, get in the car, drive off into the sunrise. Some times we felt a little like robots but you had to do what you had to do. Today we were planning on hitting a few towns on our drive through the state and so we left a little earlier today. While we did make five towns yesterday the fact that we still found no one just spurred us on to keep looking.

Anyway, the first two towns were a bust. The first one was a beach-side town and so was full of tourists. We thought we might have had some luck with the increased population but we found nothing. It was seriously annoying me. The second town was a quieter town in the middle of a forest but we were yet again greeted with a still silence. I was seriously beginning to lose hope and after the third town was also revealed to be empty I had to pull the car over.

Alex, immediately sensing something was wrong, hopped out of the car and came to my side. Without saying a word he opened the door and scooped me into his arms. We shared a warm embrace as I cried into his shoulder. I don't know why I was crying since I still had Alex but I guess I just really wanted to find others. They had to be out there somewhere. I had found Alex hadn't I?

We decided to take a bit of a break in the fourth town and stopped at a bakery to get a drink and something to eat. I wasn't hungry but Alex forced me to eat something. I mean, he actually stuffed the food into my mouth. I felt sick that I had given up already after only a few days into our search. I thought I was stronger than this. Apparently I'm not. I really needed Alex today so I was glad that he was with me. He gave me the motivation to move onto the next town after searching this one.

The fifth town was just like all the other towns in that it had the stores, cafes, streets, houses and that oppressive silence broken only by the sounds that we made. The sixth and seventh towns were much the same and by the time we had reached the eighth town it was already 8pm. We had made really good time today and had left notices in every town we had passed so that if someone had missed us they could contact us online.

Every night I checked my emails and the blog I was using as a journal and I still had no response. The only views I had received were the ones that I had given myself when checking to see if it actually worked or not. Alex used to give me my space when I was doing all this and writing the new post but after what happened today he stuck close. While I'm writing this now he is right next to me with his arm around my shoulder. I'm glad I met him.

Until next time, this is EF signing out :(

Day 10 (Tuesday 23rd December 2014)

So today started out much like yesterday. We got up, had breakfast and then headed out. The roads between towns were becoming quieter the further we got from the city which made my driving so much easier. This was helped a lot by Alex who always reminded me where I needed to go. He acted so much like a GPS that I had even began calling him my own little 'navman' (it's a brand of GPS we have in Australia).

The first town we made today was another little country town though this one had a little more to offer to the world. It basically owned the fact that it was a country town. It had a country pub, country stores (including Target country) and even country themed amusements like bowling and outback mini-golf. I always loved mini-golf so after a fruitless search around town we played a quick game of it. It was actually so much fun to do something like this and it was so much better than the maze.

I was always a fan of mini-golf. I always liked all the water features and how some holes were actually tunnels that you could put your ball down which could bring you closer to the hole or (if it was being tricky) away from it. I also liked all the automated parts like the ferris wheel that scooped up the golf ball to carry it to a higher section of track. We had to turn it on obviously but it was still fun to use. My favourite hole though, as usual, was the last one. It always seemed to be the one that had the most automation in it or had the best obstacles. Of course, it was also the one that swallowed your ball so you couldn't keep playing but it was still a lot of fun.

This one was a horse where you had to shoot the golf ball up a ramp and into its mouth. There were two holes in its mouth. One was closer to the front and harder to get into and the second one was at the back of the mouth where all the balls that missed the first hole went to. It was a lot of fun and I ended up owning Alex on every course. It was kind of embarrassing but Alex made up for it later as we 'christened' the eighth hole on our way back to our car.

The second town was nowhere near as fun as the first one and yielded us no results. The same went for the next three towns. By the fifth town we had had enough disappointment for one day and so decided to rest there for the night. It was a pretty big suburb actually with a large town centre with so much to do like bowling, shopping, eating, watching a movie, renting a DVD or even, for some of the adults in town, naughty shopping. It actually looked like it would be a busy town as there were already a number of people walking around (or had been before they were frozen in time) and it was only 6:43am on a Sunday (well, by their time. For us it was actually closer to 9pm on a Tuesday) yet the bakeries were already drawing a number of customers.

After another refuel and restocking of supplies (plus dumping of rubbish) we headed to a motel we had seen towards the edge of the town. It was on our way out anyway so we decided to do a quick check of the town before heading in. Although it was a very large and apparently busy town our search was still fruitless. This was again disappointing but we went to bed anyway with higher hopes for the next day. One of these days we were bound to find someone and each day we didn't find someone just led us one day closer to the day where we would find someone.

Anyway, Alex wants me to stop writing this and go to bed with him so I have to. Sorry, I like him too much to say no.

Until next time, this is EF signing out :)

Day 9 (Monday 22nd December 2014)

After a quick breakfast we headed downstairs to begin our big adventure. I should probably explain how I'm still going to be putting journal entries up regularly. Well, we found a few of those 3G wireless hotspots around the different apartments and we took the ones that either had no password or whose password was on the box, the instruction manual or on the device itself. Either way, you should still get regular entries.

Once we were downstairs and all sat nicely in the car we navigated our way through the city and out into the wider world. It was sort of melancholy saying goodbye to a city you had called home until just recently and knew you wouldn't see for a very long time. We had decided on a route the night before and so headed West out of the city and onto the greater highway. We hoped that there weren't any traffic jams for us to navigate around but so far it had been clear.

We passed a few towns today but they were all dead silent and full of no life at all. The first town we had stopped at the town centre and walked around calling out but the only sounds we heard were echoes of our own voices. The second town was much the same. By the third town we had decided that we could cover more ground quicker by driving up and down the streets slowly and calling out to see if anyone heard us. This did get us through a whole lot quicker yet it was the fourth town where we had to stop for the day and find a place to rest.

It was a quiet little town with only a few residential streets surrounding the town centre which consisted of a grocery store, a department store, a few minor stores, some food outlets, a church, a petrol station (where we filled up the tank which was running dangerously low) and a hotel where we decided to spend the night. It was only a small two-story affair but it was enough for us. We found a room that was empty (which wasn't hard considering that the town was so quiet it offered nothing for tourists) and dropped our stuff before heading back out to scope the streets. Within an hour we were back at the hotel with no results. Everyone was frozen in time and even if someone wasn't, the chances that they would have stayed in this town instead of going out to look for others were very low.

To be honest I didn't blame them. I won't lie though, I was disappointed and I did need some consoling from Alex (which he was happy to give me). However, my determination to find others out there was still strong. I don't know why I felt so strongly about it but part of me knew that I, I mean we, needed to find other people. We may have had each other but we could still feel a little lonely at times. Well, mainly me. Come night time though Alex was quick to erase the loneliness from my mind. Haha, speak of the devil. I have to go.

Until next time, this is EF signing out :)

Day 8 (Sunday 21st December 2014)

So last night was definitely a lot of fun. Not only had I met a guy but I had also lost my virginity in the space of (technically) not even a split second. I mean, when time starts again all this will go by in a flash so it will seem as though no time has passed at all. I'm just saying that it sounds a lot better this way. Although, finding a guy and nailing him (sorry, for my crudeness but all I can think of right now is Alex) in seven days is still impressive (especially if you are the last two you know of stuck in a time stop).

Well, anyway, back to what happened last night. After we... did it, I lay cuddled in his arms and we fell asleep like that. When I woke up I found myself alone and for a brief second I thought I had imagined it all. Then I heard the sounds of someone cooking in the kitchen and before long Alex's head peeked around the door and he told me that breakfast is ready. Of course, at this point I was already awake and writing yesterday's entry. I had to quickly end it though because although breakfast did smell great, Alex was naked.

I'm going to skip ahead a few hours again (for no reason in particular) and lead into a conversation Alex and I were having about leaving the city to explore the other towns around the country, looking for others like us. There was bound to be someone somewhere in the world. After thirty minutes of intense discussions we had decided to search the country for others. If we found no others we would explore other countries. This all sounded easy in our heads at first but once we sat down and planned the logistics of it all we found how hard it would be to get to other countries when Australia was surrounded by water (yeah, probably should have mentioned earlier I'm Australian, sorry). We ended up deciding on boats because neither of us could fly planes. This, of course, meant long periods of time at sea but if we only travelled via boat when completely necessary we could work it out. For instance, instead of going straight from Australia to America (after New Zealand of course) we could head up from Queensland to Papua New Guinea and from there explore the rest of Asia before looking through Europe and Africa. Then on to America.

This was actually a massive task that could actually take us several years so we had to prepare ourselves for it. Of course, it was bound to be a very long time before we even thought of other countries for the time being. So, we started out by planning what we would need so that we could leave tomorrow for the rest of the country.

By 1pm we had a completed list of what we needed and we both headed out together (so if we got lost one of us might know the way [or we'd just get lost together but still, romantic (damn, again, I need to get over this romance stuff, I never realised I was so into it. I'm becoming one of those people [not that there's any problem with that (I should probably stop as the brackets are getting so damn many inside each other)])]) to search for what we needed. Our first stops were clothes stores to stock up on spare underwear, socks, shoes and clothing. Then we headed for department stores to look for games and stuff to keep us occupied. We also got a few movies and TV shows along with a portable DVD player that we could use. Finally, we also got some groceries (food, drinks etc.) and little knick knacks to make our journey as comfortable and safe as we could.

On our way back we scoped out for the best cars to use. We were looking for big vehicles with full fuel tanks that looked like they could hold what we needed. It also needed to be something I could drive. Alex, apparently, had no idea how to so he would be my navigator, acting as my GPS on our journey. We had nearly given up hope when we found one (why does that happen in every story or movie. At the time it feels so cliched and made up but in real life it's actually sort of realistic in a weird way) that suited our needs. We hopped in and headed back to our apartments where we had dropped off our materials as we went.

After a little while packing everything on board we decided to call it a night and head out in the morning. When we got to Alex's apartment we kept going up into the one I was staying in. I had nothing against Alex's apartment but mine was, to be honest, better than his (just saying). When we did arrive it was already 10pm by our time (I saw our time because world time was always going to be 6:43 on a Sunday morning) and we went straight to bed.

A little while later we laid back in bed, my head on Alex's chest, and finally realised what day it was. Sunday. That mean that it had already been over a week since time had stopped and life as we knew it had changed forever (I really need to get a grip on my use of cliches). Suddenly the mood became sombre but Alex quickly lifted it by telling a joke about a man he had seen frozen in a rather compromising position. Before long I had gained enough energy to retrieve my laptop and write this journal. Alex keeps trying to hurry me since he obviously wants to go for another round. I better go.

Until next time, this is EF signing out :)

Day 7 (Saturday 20th December 2014)

I woke up at 8am again this morning although I had to rush my breakfast so I had time for a lengthy shower. I already had my clothes laid out on the couch for when I woke up so at least I didn't have to worry about my wardrobe. This was good because I had been awake most of the night searching the internet for things that we could do. In the end I had found a few maps I sent to my phone just in case I was lost and I was ready and waiting outside of Alex's door by 10.

When I knocked, Alex opened the door right away and quickly headed out of the apartment before I could see inside. I was disappointed too because I really wanted to see what the other apartments were like. After a brief awkward hello Alex reached out to me and pulled me into a warm embrace followed by a passionate kiss. Wow, who knew I could be so into this romance stuff. I kinda hope this doesn't annoy people looking back on this.

Anyway, we headed down the stairs and then walked through the city with our hands intertwined. Our first stop was at the other side of the city, the zoo. I am a rather mature person (at least in my opinion) but I've always had a child-like fascination with the zoo. I even had most of my birthdays there up until I was 11 and old enough to care about what others thought of me.

When we passed through the gates I could tell that Alex shared my enthusiasm for the zoo as he practically dragged me from enclosure to enclosure. There wasn't actually too much to see as the animals themselves were either hidden away (it was 6:43 in the morning on a Sunday and the Zoo didn't open until 10) or frozen in the time stop. Even some of the ones frozen by the time stop were just sleeping. It wasn't quite the fun adventure I had planned (I had forgotten about the time stop since I was too preoccupied thinking of what to do).

By about 1pm we had finally made our way around the whole park and had seen everything there was to see which wasn't really much. It wasn't as impressive a zoo as I thought it would be. From here we headed to a nearby 24 hour buffet restaurant for lunch before venturing onto the second part of our great adventure.

After navigating through the city for about twenty minutes I finally found what I was looking for: the botanic gardens. You would think they would be easier to find but no. Whoever planned this city was not a big fan of nature apparently. Despite this though the botanic garden was beautiful, especially since time had frozen at the best time for a walk as the sun was rising. It was amazing and we spent hours walking aimlessly around and continuing to talk about random things like our friends and family. Covering topics we had already discussed but continued doing so so that the conversation would not run up dry. Before long the topic came to sex. Alex really wanted to do it tonight and after a fair bit of persuading I 'caved in' (well not really, I was actually planning on instigating it anyway but I didn't want to seem too keen when Alex suggested it).

With that we had a quick dinner at an Italian deli I had seen online that opened early before heading back to the apartments. Alex couldn't seem to get there fast enough. When we reached his floor he pulled me in for the best kiss I had ever had. It was magical. We then broke apart as he fumbled with the handle for the apartment. When he opened the door the reason for his rush to leave became evident. He had placed electric candles around the path to the hallway which was covered in rose petals. Normally this would have been too much but when you feel for someone the way I felt for Alex you let some things slide. I acted romanticised (well, it was only a small part acting and mostly realism) as Alex pushed me on to the bed and jumped on top.

For the sake of keeping this blog open to most ages I won't go into any more detail about our sexual explorations. Maybe one day on a different site but not here and definitely not now.

After we had finished I lay under the covers with Alex cuddling into him. I fell asleep like that which is why I am actually writing this post the next morning. I won't spoil what happened the rest of the night or into the morning as that is a topic for tomorrow's post.

Anyway, I have to go now or the breakfast Alex made me will go cold.

Until next time, this is EF signing out :)
